Piplup, Chimchar, or Turtwig?

Post  Venesauroar on Fri Nov 18, 2011 6:04 pm

I'm thinking of starting Pokemon Diamond again, since for some reason I chose my character to be a boy and I'd like a fresh start! Although, I'm unsure about which starter to choose. I always choose Piplup, but which is actually best? Vote in the poll and tell me what's so good about them!

Well, it depends what level of difficulty you want.

Good points for all Pokémon (assuming you're looking at the final evolution?):
Empoleon has few weaknesses, high defense and can learn every HM apart from Fly.
Infernape has the highest speed out of the three, can learn 4 out of 8 HMs and learns many attacking moves at early levels.
Torterra has the highest attack out of the three and evolves into Torterra quickly (lvl. 32).

Hmm...well, I'm looking for something other than Empoleon and I might choose Turtwig. Would this be a good choice, considering the gym leaders?

I like Empoleons personally, steel is a good type. Up to your tastes, really.

Well, the polls even...maybe I could keep resetting the game and trade the Pokemon over to platinum, then trade them back so I have all three?

Yeah, sounds like a good idea.

I think I'm gonna start a game again, and take my two fave starters, so I have all of their evos in my team, like for example: Turtwig, Grtole, Torterra and Chimchar, Monferno, Infernape.

I did that before where I got all three starters at the start but I wouldn't recomend it. It's stupidly hard to train them all at the same level so I'd just get the other two at the end game like I've done.

Out of the three starters, the best one to probably choose is charmander. 2nd gym will be easy for ya and the ice gym.

I thought Bout that and I think you might be right. Maybe I'll just start with Turtwig, even though he's losing on the poll

If you want to get them all then use eggs or it'll be annoying for the first half of the game because you will have to keep their levels down or they won't obey you! D:

I agree, Braviary is awesome! And I started the game again, transferred all the starters to white but I'm still not sure which one to get to keep...
